Happy Birthday, Design Cuts! Here’s a Poster I Made for You!

Happy Birthday, Design Cuts! I’m so excited to have created this design for you. Through the course of this year, your team across the pond has made it possible for me to launch my own shop, with the amazing inspiration, savings, and design quality and standards you all provide. The most valuable resource I have is time… so wherever I reduce time from the equation, the more successful and less stressful the task at hand is. I truly don’t know what I’d do without you guys! So thank you, Design Cuts, thanks for everything! Happy Birthday, thanks for celebrating your milestone with us. It’s been a great ride thus far….. ????

Resources Used:

Of course, you know I just HAD to use your very own Sun Kissed Font + Bonus Brush Pack ????

Many of the design elements are from the Lettersmith Letterpress Design Pack, using the elements in that pack. I’m also newly in love with some fonts in your bundles, including Faith and Glory (eeek!). I also used Hello, Beautiful font, because, Nicky Laatz. I think I may own everything she has, lol. I used the Gibson Bold and Gibson Semi-Bold fonts for your logo, Pillowbook & some others, and I hand-sketched the rest on my tablet.

Baby Legs on me While Working on DC Poster :)

Baby legs on me while working on DC poster ????

That was the easy part. The hard part was initially working like this, with one “free” arm stuck under two little legs, and the other arm holding my 2-yr old.It was poetic, working on a 2-yr old birthday poster while holding my own 2-yr old. ????

I went through so many iterations, I was stuck on the style of what I wanted to do… so I sort of just went for something I’ve not done before. I tried to make it almost like an infographic, but really celebrating your milestones. Most of the time was actually spent searching all your social media and facebook pages (they really should do a ‘search’ option on FB, good lord that was a lot of scrolling!)  I hope I captured the main elements of it all, and truly, I hope it’s enough to make you smile a little. Though I’m such a newb at digital design, I had a lot of fun creating this for you. I really hope you enjoy it. <3

Without further ado, here’s your Birthday Poster in web size resolution, below. Hope you like it!  To download the full 16″x20″ 300dpi for PRINT resolution file, click here.  #happybdaydc !!!
